adora adora adora
Female She/Her
Eurasian
2 years
history
From the start she had to be a scrapper. Born during one of the poorest prey seasons, Adora had the odds stacked against her. With four siblings born right before her, it was a miracle any of them made it to their first moon. Her mother, Ardix was a seasoned female and diligent in keeping her cubs alive. Even if that meant she'd argue with her packmates to ensure she had enough food to produce enough milk. Aided in her efforts was Adora's father, Kyln. A sturdy and well-built alpha, he would sooner exile a packmate then allow his brood go without milk.
Luckily for the pack prey started to run again and by the time the cubs opened their eyes, the pains of hunger faded. Alongside her siblings, Adora began to pick out her place in their litter. Her eldest brother Jarmon had been gifted with brute strength like their father and often used his strong build to bully his siblings around. Unwilling to give in to him Adora started to watch his movements, determined to beat him at his own game. It was then her mother realized that Adora had a talent for strategy and stamina. She quickly learned to outmaneuver her brother and on more than one occasion managed to trip him up and send him onto his back. Jarmon was never impressed by his sister's skill to beat him and continued to push her and test their relationship. They remained rival even to this day.
Unlike her relationship with Jarmon, the rest of her siblings were considered allies. Ricca, a sister, was best known for her diplomatic skill and often talked Jarmon to boredom when he wanted to play fight. Camus, the runt, was better off hiding behind their mother when Jarmon was looking for a scuffle.
Finally outgrowing their birthing den entirely, the pack was on the move. Following the herds of elk that roamed their territory. Jarmon, Ricca, and Adora were the first to watch a hunt. Camus was told to stay behind because of his low health that made it difficult for him to keep up. Adora and Jarmon physically argued over who was going to have the better viewing spot but it was Ricca in the end who got it by simply taking it without a fight. Jarmon was angry and pouted on his own, a sore loser. The first hunt they witnessed was a breathtaking moment for Adora. She found herself moving her awkwardly growing paws in an effort to mimic her older packmates. Despite her father instructed her to watch the entire hunt, Adora found herself fixated on watching Gusla, the pack's greatest huntress. Grusla was known to move with a fluid grace that it was like she had become the wind. Her strides were long, due to her being of a different species and thus being taller than most of the pack. While she made it look easy, Gusla was the hardest worker member of the hunt. She was the first to strike and normally landed the killing blow and honor normally reserved for one of the alphas. Adora later learned that Gusla wasn't as welcomed as she originally thought. In fact, she was only allowed to stay in the pack as long as she remained a good hunter. The moment she was useless would be the moment of her exile.
Reaching the age of yearling, Adora was finally able to join the hunt. Jarmon had wanted to lead it but their father insisted on Ricca. It was quickly becoming known that she was his favorite, a fact Adora became quickly annoyed with. Ricca was just good at talking and could sing a pretty tune. With her siblings beside her, Adora was lead by their mother to a small herd of elk. The females were busy tending to their new calves which allowed for easier pickings of the smaller and slower elk.
Instructed by Ricca to flank the right and make a large circle, Adora made the first of many reckless choices during the hunt. She ignored her sister's request and went for an old battered female elk. Weak and limping a far easier kill then Ricca's chosen younger female with a new calf. Alerting Camus, who had finally grown enough to join them, the two diverted from their path and headed for the older female.
It was beyond foolish for two yearling wolves to attempt to take down an elk even an old one like they had picked. Adora tried to make the first strike but stumbled and had to tuck under the sprinting female to avoid being trampled. Camus also had to dodge the aged elk and barely escaped with a few cuts to his nose by the elk's hooves.
After their failed hunt Adora and Camus received the worst berating in their entire lives. Their father went on till well after the crickets started to chirp. Ricca and Jarmon snickered behind their father as the two were forced to sleep away from the pack and suffer the cold night without the warmth of the pack.
Not quite learning from her mistake, Adora worked on becoming a better hunter, just like Gusla. She mimicked the female and taught herself how to 'melt into the grass' which was her saying that meant she tried to hide for as long as possible and sneak up on the prey before striking. Adora hadn't become a great hunter just yet but by the time she turned 2 she was considered only second to Gusla. But unlike Gusla she lacked the willingness to take commands from her sister or any of her litter mates for that matter. Unimpressed by his daughter inability to follow direction and always wandering off, Kyln stood before the pack to address her. He gave her a choice, shape up and follow the pack rules or leave. Shocked by her father's words, Adora sought out the eyes of her packmates and found only two looking at her with concern. Gusla and Camus.
She didn't want to follow her sister's orders and felt she knew better considering she had been able to lead her hunts with a much higher success rate. Adora confronted her father about his favoritism toward Ricca but that only earned her a sharp snap of his jaw and an order of silence. She had spoken out of turn. She was again reminded it was not her place to question him and that as his daughter she followed his laws.
In a fit of anger, Adora snapped back at him and formally left the pack at that moment, much to the surprise of her packmates. Angered by his daughter Kyln gave the order for her to be chased out, a true exile.
Without waiting she sprinted, leaving her birth pack behind with only a parting glance to Camus and Gusla.
Adora has been wandering ever since. Following smaller herds and hunting with decent success. However, she hasn't hunted an elk on her own. Instead of focusing on the smaller game. She hopes to one day find herself a territory to call her own and forget all about her birth pack except for Gusla and Camus.

personality
Headstrong and reckless, Adora tends to think about the instant gratification instead of the long term of her actions. She sooner rush into a fight or a hunt then plan it out, but that's not to say she isn't smart. In the heat of the moment, Adora is strategic. She is able to calculate on her feet what needs to be done in that moment. Adjustable when needed, Adora tries to account for a variety of things during any stressful time. Where she is lacking is in her ability to plan more than 2 steps ahead. She can easily be bested by a rival that can plan ahead or has more stamina than her.
In terms of relationships with former packmates and possible future ones. Adora places value above all else. A packmate needs to be useful and well rounded. She doesn't have time for pretty talkers or just a pretty face. She only devotes energy to relationships with those she sees as having some sort of worth. While that worth can be misguided and will change half a dozen times. The moment a packmate isn't useful for the good of the pack is the moment Adora loses interest. This isn't to say she is cold hearted or will leave someone in the dust, just means she won't risk her life or the life of the pack to protect them if the moment came to it.
Adora has some growing to do, she is far too reckless and headstrong to be any sort of leader but she does have potenial. Once she learns to think 10 steps ahead.
