i'm headed straight for the castle Careful in her stride, Adora made her way along the edge of the treelinie. The scent of prey animals was lacking but the young she-wolf kept walking. She had no goal beyond finding something to eat that was within her skill level to take down. She had considered, for a brief moment, to venture deeper into the forest but decided against. Adora was reckless but not worm-brained. The forest wasn't a smart place for a single wolf. Bears made their dens in forests and were quicker to attack a wolf then offer direction. Shifting her weight to adjust her stride, Adora tilted her head up to let her nose catch any shifting scents carried on the wind.
Nothing,
Frustrated, Adora growled as her head fell back to sniff the ground. For the first time in a long time, Adora felt painfully lonely. If she had a pack to follow behind her she could have someone scouting for prey while she worried about other issues. Unlucky as she was to be alone, Adora kept her paws moving the last thing she needed was her struggles to get the better of her. Careful as ever, she decided to weave in and out of the treeline. Perhaps there was something further from the line. Even as she tested that theory Adora kept hyper-aware of threats to her young life.

I don't know what you've been told But this gal right here's gonna rule the world Yeah, that is where I'm gonna be, because I wanna be Rayden trotted parallel to the forest, her legs carrying her onward effortlessly. Who knew where she was going? She herself didn't know. But the day was young, the sun warm, and her belly full from a lucky catch she'd made of a rabbit earlier. The remains, last she'd seen, were being picked over by a fox.
She could go anywhere. And this was the direction she had picked out when she had finished her meal- a choice made at random, but she wasn't doubting herself, had no reason to change track or turn aside from the steady jog she had paced herself at. Not until she absolutely had to would she deviate, and only then unless the alternative was to risk harm to herself.
As focused as she was, the young wolf nearly missed the other she-wolf; the flash of brown jerked Rayden's head to the side, a vision of bears or wolverines flashing across her mind, only to calm as she recognized the form of a wolf, brown in color. A female, the wind told her. Alone? Or was there a pack living within the trees? She'd scented no boundary markings, so she could not have strayed across anyone's border. Either a loner, then, or a pack wolf whose family claimed land in the forest.
Rayden's first instinct was to ignore her. Her steps had faltered for the moment it took to ascertain that the other was probably not a threat, but now they started again, a touch slower as she kept the eye on the stranger's side alert for any movement she might need to guard herself against.

The game is afoot
Atticus had blended in within the forest, laying within the brush, a bush covering his body as his light eyes watched his surroundings. He was resting, no need to exude energy for the day. His belly was full from a recent hunt and he had little to worry about. Flicking his ears he heard the crunch as someone moved across the forest floor. Head raising from where it rested upon his paws he spotted another wolf moving in and out of the tree line far a head. Head cocking to the side he watched interested in her movements before his eyes spotted a second figure, one that he was surprised he hadn't noticed first.
A pearly wolf was moving nearby the second. They were far enough apart where he wondered if they were traveling together, but their movements suggested not together. Flicking his tail behind him, he moved from his spot but in no hurry, he moved to just be able to see the two within sight, but staying out of their sight. He was interested and nothing interesting had happened of late, so he would indulge his wants and follow these two unfamiliar figure.

i'm headed straight for the castle Adora couldn't explain why, but after walking for a moment longer she felt as if someone was staring at her. Coming to a hault the she-wolf scented the air again, attempting to find anything beyond her own lonely scent and changing smells of the forest. Barely prsent on the changing wind was the unique scent of another wolf, female if Adora's nose was correct.
Scanning the area around her she spotted the white-coated female. Unfamiliar with proper manners when it came to greeting a non-packmate, Adora simply watched her for a moment. Her posture didn't seem threatening and while Adora was unsure of greeting a strange wolf, she had been alone too long not to take up the chance.
Shifting her stride and heading toward the other wolf, Adora paused about two elk lengths away from her. Careful to not invade her space. "Hello, I'm Adora, the cub of Kyln and Ardix...my pack runs in the southern valley...I uh don't " She told the female. She felt awkward to introduce herself in such a way and felt foolish that she never was taught a more formal way if there was a better way. "You are?"
maybe we can brainstorm as a group for 'manners etc for the wolves'

I don't know what you've been told But this gal right here's gonna rule the world Yeah, that is where I'm gonna be, because I wanna be If the other had not begun to approach, Rayden would have carried on, never stopping until she was out of sight. But the female, upon spying her, seemed to perk up and started forward. Rayden halted, turning to face the female. Ears pricked, body loose with a single side-to-side wag to indicate a level of friendliness. For whatever reason, the stranger was intent on instigating a meeting, and Rayden would allow it. For a short time, at least, unless this stranger proved interesting.
The brown she-wolf paused a short distance away, allowing for personal space; Rayden appreciated that, and she kept the distance for now- if the meeting remained friendly, closer interaction could happen, but for now, she’d rather have that space. An ear tipped up as the female spoke, offering her name and parentage, before asking for Rayden’s.
“Rayden,” the lighter of the two replied with a bob of her head. “Oldest daughter of Talla and Valkin, who are loners. Well met, Adora.” A moment’s pause, a slight shuffle of uncertainty of what to do, now that the greeting was out of the way, before she added, “Something I can help you with- do for you?” After all, Adora had approached Rayden, not the other way around, and as little as Rayden understood about niceties, she did know that simply turning her back and walking away was rude. So she waited- either for Adora to agree, or for some cue that it was okay for her to continue on her solitary way.

i'm headed straight for the castle Rayden A unique name, not one she had heard anywhere her birthden. In fact majority of the names she knew had some form of harsh letter to them. Her father's name ehempized the start of his name, making it sound harsh like a growl. Her own name was softer compared to his, said sweeter like a mother's gentle nursing growl.
Realizing she had gotten herself distracted by the first word spoken, she tilted her ears forward to listen and remain respectful. Rayden the eldest, one honor that Adora wouldn't ever know. She'd always be after her brother, never put before him no matter how much smarter she was. Learning that Rayden came from loners was a little concerning. All her life Adora knew one territory and lived as a pack did, together. Loners were feared because a loner wolf often meant trouble, biological or mentally. Loner wolves were harder to trust than those who had simply left their birthpack to find a new home. Not that she had any room to talk anymore. She was technically a loner as well, exiled from her home and expected to survive on her own or die trying.
Nevertheless, Adora wasn't going to judge. Instead, she offered a polite look and a slight shrug to her shoulder when Rayden asked if she needed help.
"Not really, I just haven't seen another wolf in some time and I wanted to be sure I wasn't trespassing," She explained, relaxing her shoulders and tail attempting to come off as playful and friendly. "But since you mentioned it perhaps we could hunt. The two of us could bring down something bigger then the rabbits that run in the forest," She prompted the idea making her stomach growl, a large meal sounded appealing even if it meant working with a near perfect stranger.
"Would you hunt with me?" She asked formally, anticipating the start of a hunting howl before they set out, granted Rayden agreed.

I don't know what you've been told But this gal right here's gonna rule the world Yeah, that is where I'm gonna be, because I wanna be Her lack of steady interaction, past her parents, left Rayden a bit on unsteady ground. To be sure, she didn't truly care about hurting Adora's feelings, but at the same time, she didn't want to be rude. It was a fine line to walk, and the white she-wolf blinked as Adora spoke up once more. A roll of her shoulders, a loosening of muscles, a reply to the negative. "No, not trespassing. That I know of, I'm just passing through and I don't know if anyone lives there." At the very least, there was no scent of the border markings of a pack, so likely no wolves called the forest home.
The invitation of a hunt was unexpected, but almost instantly pleasure lit up Rayden's eyes. Hunt? "Oh, yes," she growled with enthusiasm. She wasn't exactly hungry, but she could never turn down the offer to hunt- to pit herself against something and engage in the age-old struggle of life and death. "I'd love to." Nose in the air again, this time to sniff out the warm scents of prey- deer, maybe?- and her tail whisked side to side as she caught one.
Before she could take off after it, however, a flash of color against green leaves jerked her attention to the forest again, and her eyes narrowed at the line of brush. For a moment she wasn't sure if she had really seen anything, but she'd long since trusted her first instinct, and instinct told her that something was there. She just didn't know what. "Sure there's nobody in those woods?" she asked Adora, taking slow steps toward the trees, eyes peeled for another sign of movement to confirm the presence of someone lurking out of sight.

The game is afoot Atticus flicked an ear, but the two she-wolves were too far away to catch what they were saying. He remained where he was, half crouched, laying within the brush. The two seemed to be getting along, perhaps two entities meant to be. How curious.
The two were about to get moving and he was too quick to move. The pearl whipped a delicate head around and he stilled. He wondered what the two would do if they caught him. Would he show himself before they approached? Should he run? Pondering his move had them already on him before he made up his mind.
Letting out a small breath, he moved forward and stepped out of the brush. A friendly moved across his face as he met the two she-wolves. "The name's Atticus," he said, dipping a head politely at the two.

` ADORA: words. tags Pleased with Rayden's confirmation that they were alone, Adora felt increasingly more at ease. Two wolves weren't easily crossed even if they were only temporary allies.
Upon hearing Rayden agree to hunt with her, Adora let her ears perk up and eyes shining with eagerness. The prey they would bring down would prove no match. Regardless of their skill.
Willing her tail not to wag in excitement, Adora set her paws to part from Rayden but only a little, barely a body length. She was eager to find her own scent, trusting her nose to find something worth tracking. The fading smell of doe caught her attention but before she could point it out to Rayden the other female questioned if they were really alone.
Curious as all young wolves were, Adora went to her hunting partner's side. She intended to help her ally if it proved to be a threat but as a figure emerged from the brush. Another wolf, male.
Nervous for a minute but forcing herself to appear relaxed, Adora returned his greeting with a polite dip of her head. "I am Adora," She told him, looking toward Rayden to introduce herself.
